What is EFT?
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or “tapping” is a therapeutic modality used to help process troubling or stuck emotions, re-work toxic thought patterns, and relieve stress at the mental, spiritual and physiological levels.
The technique can be described as a synthesis of cognitive talk-therapy and the energy-meridian work of acupuncture, energized by the cleansing, renewing power of the breath.
During an EFT session, the thinking mind, the body, and our subtle energy systems are all working together to access and release trauma from the nervous system. All that is required is our fingertips for tapping on certain areas of the body, and a willingness to be present with our own experience.
Being “free” from emotion, is not meant to imply a denial, escape from or erasure of what is being felt. Being emotionally free, means to foster a foundation of peace within, that can support whatever emotions arise in the body, with a sense of compassion, tenderness and curiosity.
EFT also works to:
- tuning our vibrational frequencies, in conjunction with toning and vocal exercises
- coming into right alignment with our sense of purpose
- releasing blockages around our self-expression and thus experiencing effortless creative flow
- manifesting our deepest desires

What to expect working with me in an EFT session:
Presence and Compassion in a safe space
A safe, energetic container for you to process any emotion on the spectrum, and relax into vulnerability. This is an opportunity for you to fully meet yourself where you’re at, and to express parts of yourself that may feel desperate to be acknowledged, witnessed and expressed. Catharsis is welcome, uncertainty is welcome, numbness, grief, joy, sadness, rage, ALL of you is welcome!
My total presence with you, holding focused, sensitive and empathetic space for your process and your issue, wherever you are at with it.
You remain in control, and are not required to feel, say or think anything that does not resonate with you. You can dive as deep as you need into your shadows, or dip a toe below the surface. You will be encouraged, but not pushed, to lean into what feels like a healthy edge for you!
Your process is completely confidential, sacred, and held with reverence.
Structure, Stability and Integration
Session are roughly 90 minutes, and include:
a review (if you are new to the technique) of the 12 tapping points, or meridian end points, that you will lightly tap yourself with your fingertips.
20-30 minutes of you talking, explaining, venting, exploring the issue that you want to work on, while I ask some focusing questions to help us identify possible origin stories and core causes.
40-50 minutes of tapping and processing the issue, in a call and response format. I structure a “script” of sorts using your key phrases, language and emotions, repeat them to you and you repeat them back. I prompt you to keep breathing deeply, to be present with and feel what arises.
Once the charge on the issue begins to lessen as we tap, the last third of the session may focus on exploring resolution, affirming new positive beliefs, and creating new possibilities.
The final 5-10 minutes are focused on integration, acknowledging energetic shifts, take-aways, insights and epiphanies.

When EFT is practiced on the regular, it serves as a wonderful tool for emotional and psychic hygiene. The technique is a template for re-working thought patterns that function as the blueprint with which we are designing and experiencing our realities.
It is becoming more widely recognized, that the way we interact with and regard our current realities, and our beliefs about our reality, is heavily influenced by the formative and defining experiences of our early childhood.
EFT is a wonderful container for becoming conscious of and weeding out the outmoded, dysfunctional beliefs that have been coloring our version of reality, by discharging them from our nervous systems and flushing new energy through the body with our breath and activated meridians. In those openings, we edit the memory files and feeling signatures by planting the seeds for more empowering and helpful beliefs we consciously choose, and fusing new neural networks with love and compassion.
Our issues are multi-faceted, having several roots in different formative or defining experiences.
